There is nothing like watching a fall movie under a quilt with a warm beverage and snacks on a crisp Autumn day.

HERE ARE THIRTEEN IDEAS for a Fall Movie Night that will nourish your soul and make you feel like a 90s kid all over again. 🍂
1. Casper

We all had a crush on Casper (didn’t we?) and we all wanted to be as cool as Cristina Ricci. Have you re-watched this movie as an adult? It absolutely still holds up.
2. Practical Magic

The quintessential autumn movie night pick. Sandra Bullock is flawless – and 2026 is the magical year of Practical Magic 2!
3. Penelope

Cristina Ricci is the queen of fall movies (and this isn’t her last movie on this list). This movie is so whimsical and heart-warming. It’s the movie that made us all fall in love with Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros!
4. Hocus Pocus

I mean…needs no introduction. Fall Movie Hall of Fame. I watch this every year with my daughter and have successfully dodged the question of “what is a virgin?” thus far. Wish me luck for 2026…

5. Kiki’s Delivery Service

This movie is like a warm hug every single time. A coming of age story about a witch finding her personal power and independence. Basically a perfect film that deserves to be on every cozy movie list.
6. Matilda

This Roald Dahl classic has a corner of every 90s kid’s heart. Watching it as a parent now makes me feel a little sad for Matilda, but Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are so comical that it still passes as feel-good. And we all need more Miss Honey in our life!
7. Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban

My favorite book and my favorite movie of the series. Am I alone? Sirius Black, Buckbeak, and time-turners. And there are pumpkins! Definitely belongs on this Fall Movie list.
8. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Thank God for Tim Burton. This movie changed animation forever, and it’s arguably not even Tim Burton’s best movie. Offer me a blanket and a warm tea and I would watch this movie with anyone during Fall.
9. Tuck Everlasting

Do you remember this movie? I read the book in elementary school and it touched me so deeply. Sometimes you need your heartstrings pulled a little to fully embrace Autumn, and this one will help you out with that.
10. Ella Enchanted

Another classic book-turned-movie. Anne Hathaway when she was still giving us Mia Thermopolis vibes. The book OR the movie would be a solid choice for celebrating the Fall season.
11. Addams Family

Wednesday, Morticia, and Gomez Addams….sigh. I told you we weren’t done with Cristina Ricci. There are technically two of these films (I’m talking about the 1991 and 1993 ones). Either of them are Fall Movie Night gold.
12. The Princess Bride

“My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.” *swoon* Fun Fact: do you know that the main male character of that film is Dr. Gordon from Saw (crazy, I know).
13. Big Fish

Ok, this is up there amongst Tim Burton’s best. This movie feels like a cozy blanket on a sick day in 1999 (when you’re barely even sick but convinced your mom) and you’re not totally sure you aren’t dreaming. An odd movie for sure, but it rightly earns its place on this Fall Movie night list.
Happy Fall! If you like cozy seasonal content, consider sticking around! We talk about all things seasonal rituals around here.
Until next time,
