You have the power to create your dream life.

By now you’ve probably heard that you can manifest anything you want in life – but maybe you’re stuck asking yourself what is it that you really want? And what would your dream life be anyway?

It’s hard to achieve your dream life when you don’t even know where to start. Am I right?

When the world is your oyster and you can have anything, sometimes you need to ask yourself a few questions to narrow your options down.

So within further ado, here are 9 questions to ask yourself when creating your dream life.

Question #1: Who are the 5 people you admire (or envy) most in your life and why?

Do you remember your first “girl crush”? Basically someone you thought was so incredibly cool that you wanted to be her?

Mine was a super cool singer in my musical theater group. She was confident, had seemingly nothing to prove, and man could she sing!

She represented the things I felt disconnected from at that time: self-confidence, a lack of fear to be seen, and a creative fearlessness.

Whenever you meet someone in your life that makes you feel a little awestruck – maybe because of their style, their energy, their lifestyle, etc – try to pinpoint the parts of them that intrigue you most.

Those are major clues about the things you deeply crave and want to call into your own life.

Creating your dream life is the art of picking up these little clues and intentionally manifesting them into your own life little by little until everywhere you look in your life you see things, traits, and habits that you adore.

And by the way – Jealousy works the exact same way.

If someone triggers your annoyance because of positive traits – body confidence, fearlessness to speak up, ability to take up space – try to catch yourself in the midst of your envy to figure out which things are making you uncomfortable

Those may very well be the exact things you want to manifest into your own life.

Question #2: If you had zero money worries, what would your day to day life look like?

Money has a tendency to have a chokehold on a lot of us. A lot of us do many things in our day to day life that we wouldn’t do if we didn’t need money to pay our bills.

Like wear “business casual”, or drink Keurig coffee, or laugh at your boss’ not funny joke.

So imagine you discover a secret money tree that dumped so much money into your life that you never had to work another day again. 🌳

What would you do for the rest of the year if you had a completely clear schedule because money was no longer a burden.

No one is looking at your answer here – it’s just for you.

Maybe you’d:

  • learn a new language
  • write a fantasy novel
  • become a hobby photographer
  • start a YouTube channel
  • open an indie coffee shop
  • study herbalism

Knowing what an ideal day would look like in a life without money pressure is another huge clue in how to create your dream life.

Question #3: What did the “adult dream life” look like when you were a kid?(the more unrealistic the better)

When you were 6, you knew exactly who you wanted to be.

  • Maybe you wanted to be a ballerina who does flips like my daughter wants to be. 🤸🏼‍♀️
  • Maybe you wanted to be a dolphin trainer like I wanted to be. 🐬

Whatever wild and outlandish dream you used to have as a kid is an absolutely beautiful clue on how to live your dream life.

Maybe your body’s flexibility doesn’t allow you to be a ballerina who does flips anymore, but if you can pinpoint the thrill of what sparked that big dream inside you, you can search for that spark in something in your real life as an adult.

You were wiser at 6, 7, 8, and 9 than you realized. Tap into her childish passion and channel it into your plan as you’re creating your dream life.

Question #4: If you could grant every single person in the world one thing, what would you choose?

If you had a magic wand that could grant every single person in this world one thing that (in your opinion) would make the world a better place, what would that thing be? 🪄

You likely thought of something right away…and then your brain kicked into gear and wanted to add 2 or 3 more important things.

Whatever you thought of first came from your subconscious and is probably linked to your core values.

Ding Ding Ding! 🛎️

Your core values are another clue to plan into your vision for achieving your dream life.

Question #5: What were you doing the last time that you completely lost track of time?

“Flow” has become such a buzzword in the last decade or so and I like to think of it as a cousin to the word “play”.

When you’re 5, you play cars or dolls and you completely lose yourself in a joyful, timeless state of “play”.

When you’re 30, maybe you’re knitting or playing pickleball or hiking, but you lose track of yourself in the same enjoyable way, but this time we call it “flow”.

In “flow”, we lose track of time, we loosen our stress, and we slip back into a simpler state of play that we accessed so easily as a child.

When was the last time you were so happily engrossed in something that you lost track of time?

Changes are you were in a “flow” state, and you were unknowingly connected to your inner child.

Activities that make you experience “flow” are arrows pointing you in the direction of designing your dream life.

Question #6: Imagine you are 100 years old, on your deathbed, surrounded by loved ones – what would be the thing you’d want to be SO GLAD you accomplished?

This one is a deep one. 💔

We all know that we only get this one crazy, beautiful lifetime.

We all boarded a train with a one-way ticket.

So imagine, if you can, that you’ve lived a full life. You’ve loved, you’ve laughed, you’ve cried and it’s almost time to say good-bye and rest.

What would you imagine to be your proudest accomplishment?

What would cause you the deepest regret to have not accomplished?

This is a way to reverse engineer a plan for achieving your dream life. Start at the finish line and look back, and then create a plan to achieve a dream life that your future 100 year old self will be deeply proud of.

You don’t want to get to the finish line and realize you didn’t enjoy the race.

Question #7: What are your 5 proudest achievements to date and what areas of your life were they in?

Throw your modesty out the window, I want you to proudly own your greatest accomplishments.

What have you achieved so far in life that makes you radiate with pride in yourself?

Think of your top 5 proudest achievements and then think about the theme of each of them. If you had to assign a “core value” to your accomplishment, which would you choose?

If you’re reading this, you likely have at least 2 decades of life under your belt.

So if you can narrow down your top 5 greatest accomplishments from all of those years, you have a pretty good idea of what matters most to you in life.

Whatever core values light you up and make you feel warm and fuzzy (the ones you touched on with your 5 life achievements) should be held near and dear to your heart and should be woven throughout your goals and plans for your dream life.

Question #8: Which area of “normal life” makes you absolutely exhausted and frustrated and why?

I recently translated the saying “monkey see, monkey do” to a friend in Mexico. She immediately grasped the meaning even though the saying doesn’t exist in Mexico.

Because the human tendency to copy what others do around us is universal.

We mimic each other at work, in public, at home. We copy trends in fashion, slang, music, and beliefs.

And we accidentally force ourselves (and each other) to do all kinds of weird things that we deem to be “socially acceptable”.

Things like wearing high heels and taking SATs. 🙄

So much of it is BS that we pretend is important.

So let’s pull out that magic wand again- if you could erase anything from “normal society” that totally exhausts you, what would it be?

A big part of achieving your unique dream life is planning for a life without the pressure of the thing you just waved away with the magic wand. 🪄

So much of “normal life” is a social construct. You are 100% allowed to build a life without a lot of the things that other people revolve their lives around (and you will feel like the most empowered rebel in the world when you do).

Question #9: If you could manifest anything in the entire world, what would it be? (the more detailed the better)

Whatever pops into your mind first is the winner. 🏆

Maybe you’re dreaming of

  • a partner to travel the world with
  • a side hustle that can grow and replace your job
  • a vacation home in Italy to escape to
  • $100,000 in your retirement account for peace of mind

The more absurd the manifestation the better. The more unique the better.

You are creating your dream life. Manifesting big things into your dream life is part of the magic. 🌟

Start familiarizing yourself with how it feels to dream big.

The things you want to manifest into your life are big pieces of your future dream life, so claim your desire and let the Universe start the ball rolling for you.

Final Words: Don’t spend your life waiting for your life to begin, create your dream life now.

Manifesting your dream life seems like something from a fairy tale, and there certainly is magic to it.

But it won’t fall into your lap without a vision or direction. ❌

You can create the life of your dreams, but “create” is a verb and it requires action from you.

Allow yourself to dream. Allow yourself to want.

The sky is the limit, don’t hold back. You can create a dream life beyond your wildest imagination.

Create your dream life for yourself, and create your dream life for the rest of us. Because when you’re fulfilled and joyful, you will radiate positivity and the collective vibration will rise.
